Nirvana Podcast

This bonus episode is all about the PolyChorus, the effect pedal Kurt Cobain used on both the In Utero Tout and the following tour. The Australian company PastFX has made a compact and improved version of this rare and legendary effect. How does it sound and will it find a home on my pedalboard? Also, you can listen to the debut of Nirvana coverband The New Complaints.

What stomp boxes did Kurt Cobain use to create and shape his guitar sound? Sytse plugs in his guitar for a beginners journey through Kurts effect pedals. From a fuzz box to an amp simulator and from an epic chorus effect to the mysterious pedal X.

Kurt Cobain has played a lot of different guitars and in this episode we discuss the most iconic (and expensive) ones. From Hi-Fliers to mustangs and from jaguars to jag-stangs: we talk about them all.

The passing of Steve Albini, new audio leaks, new books and a visit to the house in Olympia Kurt Cobain and Dave Grohl lived in... All good reasons to make a bonus episode of The Nirvana Podcast. So that's what we did.

In Utero has reached Old Age: it's been 30 years since it was released. To celebrate an anniversary box set has been released. In this episode we discuss what it has to offer and whether or not we're going to put it on the top of our Christmas wishlist. Also we share some unreleased recording that could have been on the box but are left out.
