What happens when intuition leads you all the way to the edge of science?

In this episode, Sarah closes out the Intuition Series with a powerful conversation that lives at the intersection of neuroscience and the unexplainable. She sits down with cognitive neuroscientist and author Mona Sobhani, PhD, to explore what unfolds when a traditionally trained skeptic begins to question the very foundations of a materialist worldview.

After a series of personal experiences she couldn’t easily dismiss — coffee ground readings that came true, psychic encounters, and precognitive dreams — Mona did what scientists are trained to do: she investigated. What began as curiosity turned into years of research into psychic phenomena, reincarnation studies, quantum physics, altered states of consciousness, and competing models of reality.

Together, Sarah and Mona explore the possibility that science and spirituality were never meant to be separate — and that the “unexplainable” may simply be what we haven’t yet learned how to measure.

    In this episode, you’ll hear:

Mona’s journey from skeptical neuroscientist to open-minded investigator of spiritual phenomena

The existential turning points that cracked open deeper questions about fate, free will, and meaning

    Scientific research on psychic phenomena

Quantum physics, non-locality, and the observer effect

How time, space, and determinism may not work the way we think

Altered states, meditation, sound, light, and brainwave entrainment

Precognitive dreams and intuitive information arising in non-ordinary states

Competing models of reality: materialism, panpsychism, idealism, dualism

The “trickster” element of consciousness and the limits of measurement

What it would take for science and spirituality to truly collaborate

    Meet Mona

Mona Sobhani, Ph.D., is a cognitive neuroscientist, author, and entrepreneur. When Science Meets The Supernatural

What happens when your scientific training tells you the universe is random and meaningless — but your lived experience says otherwise?

If you’ve ever felt torn between skepticism and spirituality, between logic and intuition, you’re not alone. Many of us were taught that to be intelligent means to dismiss the mystical. So when something unexplainable happens, it can feel disorienting — even destabilizing.

In this episode of Moon Beaming, I sit down with cognitive neuroscientist and author Mona Sobhani, PhD, to explore what unfolds when a rigorously trained skeptic begins questioning the very assumptions she was taught to defend.

After personal experiences she couldn’t ignore — psychic readings that proved accurate, existential crisis, and precognitive dreams — Mona followed her curiosity into research on consciousness, quantum physics, and spiritual phenomena. This conversation offers clarity not by choosing sides, but by widening the lens.

If you’re drawn to conversations at the edge of science and mysticism, make sure you’re subscribed to the Moonbeaming newsletter for deeper reflections, tools, and upcoming events.

    In this episode, we explore:

Mona’s journey from skeptic to investigator of spiritual phenomena

    Scientific research on psychic experiences

Quantum physics, non-locality, and the observer effect

The brain as receiver vs. creator of consciousness

    Altered states and mystical experience

Competing models of reality — materialism, panpsychism, and beyond

Reality may be far stranger — and far more alive — than we’ve been taught to believe.

What if the reason intuition advice has never worked for you is because it wasn’t designed for your brain?

In this episode, Sarah explores the powerful intersection of intuition and neurodivergence — and why so much mainstream spiritual guidance can feel confusing, inaccessible, or even shaming for people with different nervous systems.

Sarah also shares more about her Intuition Series (Secret Studies), a grounded, trauma-aware, neurodivergence-inclusive approach to developing intuitive skills in a way that feels safe, sustainable, and empowering.

    In this episode you’ll hear:

The difference between top-down and bottom-up processing

Why many neurodivergent people experience delayed processing

How intuition can show up as anger, intensity, or expansion — not just peace

The myth that you must act on intuition immediately

Why protector parts can override intuitive hits

Capacity, impulsivity, dopamine, and energy miscalculation (especially for ADHD folks)

How to take more time and build trust with yourself

Take a breath. Slow down. Your intuition doesn’t need to look like anyone else’s to be real.

    ---

If Intuition Advice Has Never Worked for You & You Are Neurodivergent, Read This

What if the reason intuition advice has never worked for you is because it wasn’t designed for your brain?

Maybe you’ve tried to “just listen to your inner voice,” but you don’t hear one. There is nothing wrong with you.

Most mainstream intuition advice is built for linear, top-down processors. It rarely accounts for the way neurodivergence shapes perception, processing, timing, energy, or pattern recognition.

In this episode of Moonbeaming, (link) I explore intuition through the lens of neurodivergence and nervous system awareness — and why cookie-cutter spiritual advice often misses the people who need nuance the most.

    This episode we explore:

The difference between top-down and bottom-up processing

Why many neurodivergent people experience delayed processing

How intuition can show up as anger, intensity, or expansion — not just peace

The myth that you must act on intuition immediately

Why protector parts can override intuitive hits

Capacity, impulsivity, dopamine, and energy miscalculation (especially for ADHD folks)

How to take more time and build trust with yourself

If this resonates, this is also the final call to join Secret Studies: The Intuition Series. (link)

This is my grounded, somatics-informed, depth-psychology-rooted container for developing intuitive skill in a way that feels safe and sustainable.

And remember, there is literally nothing wrong with you. Your intuition isn’t broken — it’s just not linear.

If you can put in a button to the course, do so here.

What if intuition isn’t one clear voice — but a holographic field of many different kinds of knowing?
In today’s episode, Sarah explores the premise that intuition is not a single sensation or moment of certainty, but a spectrum — fluid, multi-channeled, and deeply alive.
Sarah breaks down two primary forms of intuition: the kind that arrives as calm clarity and recognition, and the kind that shows up as a pull, a compulsion, or an invitation into the unknown. She shares why the second form is often mistaken for anxiety, and how learning to trust uncertainty can be one of the most powerful ways we grow.
This episode is a reframe for anyone who has ever wondered if they’re “doing intuition wrong,” and a reminder that inner knowing doesn’t always lead to comfort — it often leads to expansion, healing, and becoming more fully yourself.
    In this episode, you’ll hear:
Why intuition is holographic and comes through many channels
The difference between certainty intuition and the intuitive pull
How anxiety can arise in response to uncertainty
Intuition as a healing GPS and an invitation into growth
Why intuition doesn’t always lead to ease or comfort
How trust is built through the unknown
Learning the unique language of your own inner knowing
    ---
    Intuition Isn’t Certainty — It’s a Spectrum
What if intuition isn’t a single clear signal? What if the moments that feel foggy, destabilizing, or even anxiety-producing aren’t signs that you’re disconnected… but signs that something meaningful is unfolding?
If you’ve ever wondered whether you’re “doing intuition wrong,” you’re not alone. Many of us have been taught that intuition should feel calm, certain, and reassuring — and when it doesn’t, we assume we’ve failed or misread the signal.
In this episode of Moonbeaming, Sarah offers a powerful reframe: intuition is holographic. It’s a spectrum. It comes through many channels, shapes, and sensations — and not all of them are comfortable.
If this episode resonates, it’s part of a larger Intuition Series leading into Secret Studies: Intuition — Sarah’s foundational course on learning the unique language of your own inner knowing.
    In this episode, you’ll learn:
Why intuition is holographic and moves through many channels
The difference between certainty-based intuition and the intuitive pull
How anxiety often arises in response to uncertainty — not intuition itself
Intuition as a healing GPS rather than a guarantee of comfort
Why intuition often leads to growth, not ease
How trust is built by moving through the unknown
Learning the unique language of your intuition, rather than copying someone else’s
Intuition isn’t here to give you perfect answers or a neatly wrapped outcome. It’s here to move the plot forward — to expand your capacity, deepen your trust, and guide you toward a more honest version of yourself.

What If Intuition Isn’t Mystical — But Practical?
Many people think intuition is something rare, mystical, or reserved for a gifted few. Something that arrives fully formed, calm, and certain — or not at all. But what happens when intuition feels messy or urgent? When it’s hard to tell whether you’re sensing something real or just feeling afraid?
In this episode of Moonbeaming, Sarah sits down with best-selling author and renowned intuitive Laura Day to explore intuition as a grounded, practical skill — one that can be trained, tested, and used in real life rather than idealized or outsourced to fate.
This conversation offers a reframing of intuition not as something to romanticize, but something to work with — especially in moments of stress, crisis, or uncertainty.
If this episode resonates, you may enjoy our intuition course, Secret Studies: Intuition, where we explore how to strengthen inner knowing through structure, discernment, and practice.
    In this episode, you’ll learn:
How to tell the difference between anxiety and intuition
Why intuition should be actionable and grounded
How neurodivergence can sharpen intuitive awareness
Crisis response types and how we react under pressure
How patterns repeat — and how intuition helps us interrupt them
Practical frameworks for strengthening inner knowing
Intuition isn’t about prediction or perfection. It’s about pattern recognition, responsiveness, and choice.
When intuition becomes practical, it stops being something you wait for — and becomes something you use.
