E25 – Rachel Caine: Sacred Clowning as Soul Medicine – Finding Freedom, Healing, and Balance Through Chaos
Rachel Caine is an award-winning Sacred Clown, poetess, laughter yoga leader, celebrant, and practising Shamanka trained in Andean shamanism. For over 30 years, she has devoted her life to the ancient and transformative art of sacred clowning—bringing joy, disruption, healing, and deep humanity into hospitals, hospices, ceremonies, and community spaces. Based on Ibiza, where she also leads retreats and writes her memoir, Rachel continues to walk the path of the holy fool: one who tenderly unmasks the human condition through laughter, tears, and radical love.
In this luminous conversation, we explore sacred clowning as an ancient archetype and a profound spiritual practice—one that invites us to embody the full spectrum of being: from innocence and silliness to courage, grief, and deep soul presence. Rachel shares her extraordinary journey from businesswoman to sacred clown, her wisdom on the healing power of creative play, and the spiritual warriorhood it takes to hold space for transformation. Together, we reflect on the importance of creating safe containers for true expression, the sacredness of humor, and how playfulness, when rooted in reverence, becomes a medicine that reconnects us to joy, belonging, and the wild freedom of being fully alive.
