Dragonfly Tales

Hey Story Lovers!
This episode we are joined by Kim Normanton from Super Great Kid Stories! She's telling a tale of a very famous witch - Baba Yaga's Breakfast. Be sure to check out Kim's fabulous podcast HERE.
Thank you so much for all your spooktacular jokes - we have loads!! Don't worry if you didn't get yours to us in time - you can still send them to us but they won't appear in the show now. We'll do something else at Christmas time so you can contribute.
My story is based on an Indian folktale about animals - but I've made it about GOBLINS! Tee hee!

Hi Story Lovers! While you’re waiting for the next new story, we’ve decided to look back into the archives at some stories that got a bit lost for a while.
Every other week, we will be giving these episodes a spot light and calling them 'the lost stories'.
In the run-up to our spooky episode at Halloween, our story is the first ever visit to the HOTEL DeVILLE! We so loved making this episode - it was very silly!
Could that mean - we're returning to Smelly Bottom? Who can say? MWAHAHAHA!

Hello Story Lovers!
Today's story from Japan and features a wonderful creature from Japanese myth and legend – the Tengu!
Tengus are supernatural beings with special powers and magical items. They can be depicted as part man, part bird, even as part monkey, and they have often been painted or drawn with red faces and long noses or beaks. They are not to be trifled with, as you will soon find out. If you want to find out more about Tengus you can do so HERE.
We love Geraldine McCaughrean's version of the story - 'Never Tangle with a Tengu', which Emily heard as a child and we owe credit to.
Halloween Jokes
We need your fabulous, spooky Halloween jokes! The spookier and sillier the better. If you would like to tell a Halloween joke on the podcast, go and find a good one – and try and choose one that we haven’t heard. Then ask your grown up to record it, and send to my email address [email protected]

Hi Story Lovers! While you’re waiting for the next new story, we’ve decided to look back into the archives at some stories that got a bit lost for a while.
Every other week, we will be giving these episodes a spot light and calling them 'the lost stories'.
Our story this episode takes us to ancient Egypt, land of pharaohs, gods, desert, hieroglyphs and the river Nile.
And a goddess who will not rest until her loved one is restored to her.
The story is about death, but also about life. The ancient Egyptians honoured and preserved their dead, believing that they would be reunited in the Afterlife. If you want to find out more about the Ancient Egyptians, you can do so HERE.

Hi Listeners!
Today's story is a very famous tale of transformation from Scotland. It was recommended by our Power Pixies Cassie, Leo and Hermione - Pixies have the power to choose the stories you hear on the podcast!
And this tale - the tale of Tam Lin - has influenced songs, poems and ballads for hundreds of years!
