- There are times we look back and think that we could have done more than what we did and we could have done it better, too.
Then we realize that we weren't able to reliably tell whether or not we would get it to the finish line.
I see PLENTY of teams trying to get it all done either by self-imposed pressure or pressure put on them by others.
I hope that you find this helpful as we round out this series where we identified the major areas that keep us from getting stuff done.
This is part 3 of 3 on this series.
I hope you enjoy this as we wrap it up and move onto something more fun and hopefully less painful.... - So the whole world is going to fall apart if we don't handle this emergent or urgent work! At least, that is what they say. What actually happens is something completely different.
For the scrum team, we already have one WIP Limit in place. That is what we believe it will take to reach the Sprint Goal and we establish that during Sprint Planning.
For the Kanban team, we limit our WIP and classify the type of work we usually have.
So this episode is not so much about handling the hijacker, but how to handle the hijack.
Listen, share, tell a friend.
Thanks for all the love you are sending me!

[email protected] - Let's talk about those dang old same 3 questions we ask in the daily standup and why they hold you back.
The Daily sync is sunk, the standup is everyone sitting down, the daily scrum is daily scum.
We have to get away from this pattern and have better engagement.
If you are a product owner, scrum master, agile dev team member who seems to be NOT getting value out of your daily scrum, sync, standup; whatever you call it - you have to listen to this old school ScottyG episode.
It's a difficult conversation, but that's how we grow!
[email protected] - What you are bringing into PI or quarterly planning is the input needed for you and the team to make your commitments. How you qualify that input is a critical step that lots of teams miss.
I'm not talking definition of ready on a micro-level in this episode, but I am talking about the macro-level on making sure you have a smoother large-room planning event.
Tune in for ScottyG's 3 keys to pre-planning for your next interval!
