AfterNoona Delight: KDrama Dishing and Deep Dives

It's that Uncensored time of the month, friends. While Lia is sadly off dealing with her MBPS--or MIPS, as we like to say--Amy and Megan are holding down the fort along with some Patreon help. Join us today as we answer burning questions like, "Do we want gratuitous butts in K-Dramas?" and "To makjang or not to makjong?" and "Would or could we ever write a romance in the Kishotenketsu four-part structure?" And send your thoughts and good vibes to Lia's laptop. We hope she's gotten over her virus and can return to business as usual!
Are your family and friends sick of you talking about K-drama? We get it...and have an answer. Join our AfterNoona Delight Patreon and find community among folks who get your obsession. Check out www.afternoonadelight.com for more episodes, book recs and social media goodness.

Today we review No Other Choice, a Park Chan-Wook (Old Boy) directed dark comedy movie about a fired paper company employee played by Lee Byung Hun. It's weird. It's creepy. Do we recommend it? Listen to find out!

Your noonas will be continuing to watch the C-Drama, Pursuit of Jade, for the next several days/weeks/months, but we are VERY much looking forward to K-Dramas dropping in September. Join us for a Smash or Pass episode where we review dramas dropping this week and whether or not we're adding them to our list. But first, we kick things off by exploring the endless sea of quintuple stacked screen snips on Lia's desktop.

405 years ago Lia, Megan and Amy decided to watch My Royal Nemesis. Only one of us completed the homework. Was it Amy? Nope. Was it Megan? Nah. And it was so long ago Lia is genuinely a little muddled on all the souls with their backpacks in the conclusion. Our verdict was not bad, not good. But that opening episode? Chef's kiss...so long as it isn't a bowl of poison.
