Zhineng Qigong as a Science: The Philosophy Behind the Qi Field, Consciousness & Matter | Julien Étoré Bonet

    2026-09-30 | 49 min.
To access "My Qigong" go to www.my-qigong.com
In today's Qigong podcast, host Torsten Lueddecke sits down with French philosopher and Zhineng Qigong practitioner Julien Étoré Bonet to explore one of the most important — and least understood — dimensions of Zhineng Qigong: its scientific framework.
Most practitioners know Zhineng Qigong as a practice rooted in Taoism and Buddhism. But Julien reveals that Dr. Pang Ming's own writings tell a very different story. For a science to be a science, it needs what philosophers call an epistemology — a rigorous reference framework with rules for how knowledge is obtained. And Dr. Pang Ming was explicit: the epistemological foundation of Zhineng Qigong is dialectical materialism, the scientific philosophy of Marx and Engels.
Julien explains how a group of French practitioners gained access to rare Hong Kong editions of Dr. Pang Ming's books — including full transcripts of every lecture he gave at the Huaxia Center. These four volumes, now translated into French, make clear that Dr. Pang Ming was building a materialist science designed to prove that consciousness is matter, using Qigong as the laboratory.
Torsten and Julien break down how the Qi Field is the material expression of Marx's concept of social relations, how the thre levels of substance (matter, energy, and information) are grounded in materialist philosophy, and how consciousness evolves historically through a spiral process — not as an eternal absolute. They also explore what this means for practitioners today: a scientific roadmap for developing Zhineng Qigong as a living, evolving science rather than a fixed doctrine.

    Mindful Moments
Zhineng Qigong's true scientific framework is dialectical materialism — the philosophy of Marx and Engels, not Taoism or Buddhism as many practitioners assume
Dr. Pang Ming's original Huaxia Center lecture transcripts, now available in French, reveal the rigorous scientific framework underlying all of Zhineng Qigong theory
In Zhineng Qigong, the methods and movements are rooted in Chinese culture, but the scientific theory is built entirely on Western materialist philosophy
The Qi Field is the material expression of Marx's concept that human nature is the totality of social relations — a scientific claim, not a spiritual metaphor
Engels wrote that "consciousness is matter" — Dr. Pang Ming built Zhineng Qigong as a science to prove this through practice and experimentation
Consciousness in Zhineng Qigong is not eternal or pre-existing — it evolves historically through a spiral process, grounded in the science of dialectical materialism
Dr. Pang Ming was more critical of Taoism and Buddhism than of Western science — and his lectures make clear why Zhineng Qigong belongs in its own scientific category
Dialectical materialism teaches us to avoid speaking in absolutes without context — and this principle is at the heart of Zhineng Qigong's scientific approach to suffering
Understanding the scientific framework Dr. Pang Ming built gives Qigong practitioners a clear roadmap for developing the practice beyond what he originally taught
Our Zhineng Qigong practice becomes more scientifically grounded when we engage with the real material world and the social reference frameworks within it

How Qigong Became Part of Yvette’s Cancer Healing Journey

    2026-09-30 | 44 min.
To access "My Qigong" go to www.my-qigong.com

In today's Qigong podcast, Torsten Lueddecke sits down with Yvette Martin — a single mother of three from Sydney, Australia, who was given weeks to live after a third recurrence of brain cancer, said no to debilitating surgery, and went on to make a recovery that left her oncologist speechless. Yvette's story is one of the most extraordinary healing journeys to ever be shared on this podcast, and it is a testament to the transformative power of Zhineng Qigong and the unshakeable human will to live.
First diagnosed with breast cancer in 2020, Yvette navigated chemotherapy, surgery, and radiation while simultaneously deepening her understanding of holistic health. When the cancer returned in her brain — unusually as a single, operable lesion — Qigong had already begun protecting her body in ways that even her oncologist couldn't fully explain. It was only with the third recurrence, when surgeons told her the operation would likely leave her in a wheelchair, that Yvette made the bold decision to refuse surgery and pursue a full integrative healing approach.
What followed was a radical commitment to recovery: high-dose supplements, integrative oncology, infrared saunas, acupuncture, colonics, energy healing — and at the centre of it all, hours of daily Zhineng Qigong practice. With almost no voice, severe swallowing difficulties, a winged shoulder blade, and weighing just 41 kilos, Yvette attended a 10-day Qigong retreat on the Gold Coast — and by the end, her voice had returned as a whisper. She then travelled to China for a month-long healing residency, immersed herself in the group Qi field, and came home without her microphone. Today, she has full range of motion in her arm, eats whatever she wants, has her energy back, and has completed her Zhineng Qigong teacher certification.
One of the most powerful insights Yvette shares is the shift from practising Qigong out of obligation to practising out of pure love — the moment the practice stops being medicine you take and becomes the thing you cannot wait to do. This, she explains, is when the real healing truly begins.
🎙️ Yvette now teaches Zhineng Qigong online and runs a weekly support group for people navigating chronic or serious health challenges — a space held not from pity, but from the deep knowing that every person is a powerful, capable being having a difficult human experience.

🪨 Mindful Moments from This Episode:

Zhineng Qigong may have protected Yvette's body during cancer, concentrating scattered cells into a single operable tumour — a pattern her oncologist had never seen before
Qigong practice shifts from something you do to heal, to something you love — and that shift is when the deepest healing begins
The group Qi field in Zhineng Qigong is not local — practicing online while connecting to the global community of practitioners amplifies the healing effect profoundly
Trusting the body during extreme weight loss is a radical act; Qigong teaches us that the body knows what it needs, even when it looks frightening from the outside
Commitment to healing sends a message to the unconscious — Qigong combined with total dedication recreates the environment of the legendary Medicineless Hospital
Protecting yourself from other people's fear is a form of Qigong self-care — the information others project into your Qi field matters
Qigong practice becomes most powerful when you stop digging multiple shallow holes and go deep into one practice — like digging for water, depth is what finds the source
A Zhineng Qigong support community built around strength rather than victimhood creates a completely different healing field for those facing serious illness
The oncologist who once said neurological damage is permanent was left asking Yvette what she was doing — Qigong healing can exceed the boundaries of medical expectation
Standing shoulder to shoulder in community — not as caretakers, but as equals — is itself a Qigong principle: we rise in the Qi field together

From Doubt to Dedication: The 7-Step Qigong Journey with Leilah Cupido and Heather Bourne

    2026-07-08 | 42 min.
To access "My Qigong" go to www.my-qigong.com
In today's Qigong podcast, Torsten Lueddecke sits down with Leilah Cupido and Heather Bourne — two Qigong therapists who have partnered to create one of the most transformative Qigong workshops available today. Together they explore the most common reason people abandon their Qigong practice: doubt. Through their 7-step framework called “From Doubt to Dedication,” they reveal how intention, discipline, detachment, and joy can turn a wavering practice into a life-changing commitment.
Drawing on the principles of Zhineng Qigong and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), Leilah and Heather break down why doubt is not the enemy — it is actually a signal pointing you toward courage, creativity, and deeper commitment. They unpack the concept of “e-motion” — how every emotion carries energy that is meant to move you forward rather than hold you back.
The conversation dives deep into one of the most overlooked obstacles to healing: attachment to illness. As Heather reveals, around 30% of people who don’t experience progress may be unknowingly attached to their condition — not out of choice, but because it has become part of their identity. Through gentle Qigong practice and conscious detachment, this can shift without the need to relive trauma.
Leilah and Heather also shae how their workshop uses Lachi and Shanghai Qigong to embody each of the seven steps — from setting a clear intention to developing a joyful, sustainable daily habit. Whether your goal is physical healing, personal growth, or overcoming procrastination, this episode offers a powerful roadmap to show up fully for yourself and your life.
👳️ Next live workshop: August 15th — Switzerland
💛 Online workshop coming in Autumn
🪨 Mindful Moments from This Episode:
Qigong begins with a decision — setting a clear intention that acts as your northern light throughout the journey
Discipline in Qigong is not about force — it is about relaxation and flexibility working hand in hand
Doubt is natural after setting an intention; Qigong teaches you to observe it rather than be consumed by it
Emotions are “e-motions” — energy in motion that Qigong helps you channel into courageous and creative action
Fear in Qigong practice is not a stop sign — it is an invitation to take courageous action toward your intention
Detachment in Qigong does not mean isolation — it means releasing your grip on the story that is keeping you stuck
Up to 30% of those not healing may be unknowingly attached to their illness — Qigong gently helps dissolve this
Joy is the highest form of Qigong — developing a joyful heart is its own daily practice and act of cultivation
Dedication in Qigong is an act of self-love that ripples outward — your healing contributes to the healing of all
Qigong’s Qi field means we are all connected — your evolution mirrors and uplifts the evolution of those around you

Uniting the Qigong Community in Europe | How Qigong Helped Yvonne Hoeboer Lose Weight

    2026-06-03 | 28 min.
In today's Qigong podcast, Yvonne Hoeboer, a Zhineng Qigong teacher and community builder from the Netherlands, shares her extraordinary journey — losing 20 kilograms through consistent Qigong practice and discovering how Qi itself can become the body's deepest source of nourishment.
Yvonne's Qigong journey began in 2012, drawn in almost by instinct — describing her very first class as "homecoming." What started as a personal practice grew into a calling. After traveling to China for her teacher training in 2017, she began her 100-day gong practice. Through consistent Qigong — especially wall squats — something remarkable happened: over two years she lost 20 kilograms naturally, without dieting. The evening cravings she had battled for years simply disappeared.
Torsten and Yvonne explore the fascinating connection between Qi cultivation and appetite. When you practice Qigong deeply, the Qi nourishes you at an energetic level — and the body stops reaching for food to fill what it was really craving. She also shares how the mindset teaching of Ming — self-observation without judgment — creates a powerful inner "switch" that can be applied far beyond weight loss, to any habit, pattern, or addiction in life.
Yvonne also reveals her exciting new project: a Zhineng Qigong community gathering happening August 28-30 in Limburg, the Netherlands — open to practitioners, teachers, and beginners from across Europe. A beautiful event built on the belief that Western teachers are now the carriers of this ancient wisdom, empowered to spread it in their own unique way.
Join Yvonne as she explores: Can Qigong be the key to lasting transformation — in your body, your mind, and your life?
    Mindful Moments:
Qigong practice can naturally eliminate food cravings by cultivating Qi as deep energetic nourishment.
Zhineng Qigong's 100-day gong practice, particularly wall squats, creates powerful physical transformation.
Qigong reduces stress — often the hidden root cause of overeating, cravings, and weight gain.
The Qigong principle of Ming teaches self-observation without judgment, breaking habitual patterns at the root.
Qigong creates a mindset "switch" that applies to weight loss, addictions, and any life challenge.
Consistent Qigong practice builds both a physical and energetic foundation for long-term health.
The Zhineng Qigong community's shared Qi field amplifies every practitioner's personal practice.
Qigong teachers in the West are now the carriers of ancient wisdom, spreading it in their own unique way.
Practicing Qigong in a community deepens awareness, connection, and the transformative power of the practice.

    2026-05-20 | 32 min.
In today's Qigong podcast, Naomi Hales, a passionate Zhineng Qigong practitioner and educator, shares her remarkable exploration into the science of how Qigong can influence our very DNA — unlocking healing through the power of consciousness, intention, and our deep connection to nature.
At the heart of this conversation is epigenetics — the study of how our thoughts, environment, and practices can change gene expression without altering our underlying DNA. Naomi explains how Zhineng Qigong works as a powerful epigenetic tool, activating the body's self-healing intelligence through focused awareness and the cultivation of Qi. Drawing on Dr. Herbert Benson's groundbreaking research at Harvard on the relaxation response, she reveals the measurable physiological shifts that regular Qigong practice can create.
Naomi explores the profound relationship between Qigong and nature, explaining how immersing ourselves in natural environments amplifies our connection to universal Qi and supports deep nervous system regulation. She also discusses neuroplasticity — how consistent Qigong practice literally rewires the brain, shifting us from chronic stress and anxiety into expanded states of peace, clarity, and wellbeing.
Qigong and epigenetics together offer a powerful framework for understanding how we can take conscious control of our health. Naomi shares how daily Qigong practice builds a biological foundation for healing, and how the Zhineng Qigong community creates a shared Qi field that supports every practitioner's journey.
