Why We Should Still Compete in Safe Red Districts

    2026-03-12 | 1 h 1 min.
    1. The Georgia Special Election Surprise

The race to replace Marjorie Taylor Greene triggered a March 2026 special election in Georgia’s deeply conservative 14th district.

Democrat Shawn Harris unexpectedly finished first in the initial vote, sending the race to an April runoff against Republican Clayton Fuller.

The district is rated heavily Republican, making the result a major political surprise.

    2. Why Democrats Usually Avoid “Safe” Red Districts

    Campaign resources are limited.

    Parties prioritize competitive swing districts.

Gerrymandering has reduced the number of competitive House districts dramatically.

    3. The Case for Competing Everywhere

Infrastructure: Running candidates builds local party networks and volunteer bases.

Message discipline: Democrats can challenge Republican narratives directly in conservative media markets.

Candidate pipeline: Today’s long-shot candidate can become tomorrow’s viable statewide contender.

    4. The Political Pressure Strategy

Forcing Republicans to defend deep-red districts drains their resources.

Competitive races in unexpected places can shift national narratives.

    5. The Bigger Problem: Safe Districts

“Safe seats” often reward extremism because the real contest becomes the primary, not the general election.

Running everywhere helps break that dynamic and gives voters an actual choice.

    6. What the Georgia Race Tells Us

Voters in “safe” districts aren’t as monolithic as political maps suggest.

When Democrats show up, organize, and talk about real economic issues, surprising things can happen.

Everything Trump Touches Turns to Sh*t

    2026-03-10 | 57 min.
    1. Trump’s Iran War Is Escalating

U.S. strikes against Iran triggered a broader conflict in the region.

The Strait of Hormuz—responsible for about 20% of global oil shipments—has been disrupted, sending energy markets into panic.

Polls show most Americans expect the war to drag on and drive prices even higher.

    2. Gas Prices Are Rising Fast

Oil has surged above $100 per barrel, pushing gas prices higher across the U.S.

In some places like California, prices have already topped $5 per gallon.

Trump has dismissed the increase as a temporary “glitch.”

    3. A Terrible Jobs Report

The latest report shows the U.S. economy lost 92,000 jobs and unemployment ticked up to 4.4%.

Markets dropped following the report as investors reacted to the worsening outlook.

    4. Prices Are Still Rising

Energy costs are feeding broader inflation fears.

Economists warn the combination of weak job growth and rising prices could push the U.S. toward stagflation.

    5. The Big Question

Trump promised cheaper gas, a stronger economy, and fewer foreign entanglements.

Instead, Americans are watching prices rise, jobs disappear, and another war unfold in the Middle East.

    Has Donald Trump Ever Cried?

    2026-03-05 | 52 min.
    What We Get Into:

Trump launching military strikes on Iran on March 1, 2026 — without congressional authorization — in what he called "major combat operations," warning from the jump that American lives would be lost

His response when the first three U.S. service members were killed in Kuwait: framing their deaths as an expected cost of the mission, saying "we expect casualties, but in the end it's going to be a great deal for the world" — before their families had even been notified

Pete Hegseth at the Pentagon, scolding reporters for covering the dead soldiers too much, claiming it was an attempt to make Trump "look bad"

Trump's aide Steve Witkoff going on Fox News to reveal Trump had "a tear in his eye" meeting freed hostages — and why the public reaction was immediate and brutal

The Iran war itself: who benefits, who wasn't consulted (Congress), and why even some MAGA voices — including Marjorie Taylor Greene — called it "absolutely disgusting and evil"

Only 28% of Americans thought the administration made a compelling case for the strikes. Two-thirds wanted a congressional vote. None of that happened.

The deeper question: is this a man incapable of empathy, or one who has simply decided he doesn't need to perform it anymore?

Even Experts Can't Explain WTF Trump Is Doing In Iran

    2026-03-03 | 49 min.
In speech after speech during the 2024 election cycle, Trump promised that he wouldn’t engage in regime change or nation building.

If you turned that into a drinking game, you’d need a new liver by now.

And now, he hasn’t just done it once. He’s done it twice.

This past weekend, Trump proved once again that you know he’s lying because his mouth is moving.

While it’s not entirely surprising he invaded Iran, it’s still a shock and awe moment that will go down as one of his most cataclysmic decisions in his dangerous and chaotic history.

And here’s the thing: Iran isn’t Iraq. Or Afghanistan. Or Venezuela. Iran is the 6th largest country in Asia (around 92M), with a GDP of over $400B. They have vastly superior military capabilities than many of its neighbors. Even if we can all agree that it’s not being ruled by anything that even looks like a pluralistic democratic regime, you could also argue the same thing about the modern U.S.

Imagine how (rightly!) fucking pissed you’d be if a foreign nation assassinated our leaders without backing from its populous and started bombing our nation’s capital.

And that’s just what Trump has done…again. But this time, he’s picked a dangerous and wealthy enemy.

    To put it mildly: Fuck.

We sat down with Gregg Carlston live from Riyadh (Middle East correspondent, The Economist), and Andrew Miller (former Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Israeli-Palestinian Affairs) who spoke to us to try and make sense of the region’s reaction to the invasion.
