Just Foolin' About with Michael Biehn

Michael Biehn kicks things off by talking about his real “Abyss” knife that he kept, as well as some Buck Taylor Johnny Ringo art pieces that he likes. Then the episode shifts to Onslaught: it finally has a Labor Day weekend release date, and after seeing the movie, Michael says Adam Wingard absolutely nailed it—fast, dirty, ultra-violent, and nonstop—while shouting out performances from Dan Stevens and Adria Arjona. They also talk about the Onslaught trailer debuting in theaters before Backrooms, the huge buzz around Backrooms and internet-born horror, and how studios (especially A24) are leaning into horror because it’s making serious money. Michael briefly teases he’s in Europe prepping another big movie he can’t name yet, and shares a personal update about his mom’s health.

Dr. Jennifer Maritza McCauley is the author of the cross-genre collection SCAR ON/SCAR OFF (Stalking Horse Press), the short story collections When Trying to Return Home (Counterpoint Press) and Recognition (University of Wisconsin Press) ('27), the poetry collections Kinds of Grace (Flowersong Press) VERSUS and Tumbao ( '27, '29/Texas Review Press) and the speculative fiction collection Neon Steel (Cornerstone). She is the recipient of fellowships from National Endowment for the Arts, Kimbilio, CantoMundo, and Sundress Academy for the Arts. Her poetry collection SCAR ON/SCAR OFF received an Independent Publishers Book Award and her short story collection When Trying to Return Home, was a New York Times Editors' Choice and one of the Best Fiction Books of the Year by Kirkus Reviews. She has received an MFA from Florida International University and a PhD in English from the University of Missouri-Columbia. She is presently an assistant professor in English at the University of Missouri-Kansas City.

G. Groves in Aliens vs. Predator (2010), and Colonial Marshal Waits in Alien: Isolation (2014) and its 2019 animated miniseries adaptation. Thomas Jane is an American actor. He is known for appearing in the films Boogie Nights (1997), Deep Blue Sea (1999), The Sweetest Thing (2002), The Punisher (2004), The Mist (2007), 1922 (2017), and The Predator (2018). Jane's television roles include Mickey Mantle in the television film 61* (2001), Ray Drecker in the HBO series Hung (2009–2011), for which he was nominated for three Golden Globe Awards, and Josephus Miller in the Syfy/Amazon Video series The Expanse (2015–2019).
