1 Kings 6 shows how God interrupted Solomon’s temple-building project to remind him that obedience and God’s presence mattered more than the structure itself, warning us not to become so consumed with building for God that we neglect our relationship with Him.

1 Kings 5 shows how cooperation across nations and diverse people made Solomon’s temple possible, pointing to Jesus, the One greater than Solomon, who builds a greater spiritual temple from believers shaped and united by God.

In 1 Kings 4, Solomon surrounds himself with capable leaders and a trusted friend like Zabud, reminding us that even in seasons of success, we need faithful companions who will put an arm around our shoulder and help us keep going.

In 1 Kings 3, Solomon asks God for wisdom and discernment in a dream, reminding us that wisdom comes from God through prayer and that His wisdom equips us to navigate the difficult tests and decisions of life.
