Talk Of The Townsends

Benedict has thoughts about the new Narnia trailer. Quite a lot of them. Hannah and Benedict discuss Greta Gerwig’s The Magician’s Nephew, Meryl Streep’s Aslan and whether the internet might be getting a little carried away.
They also compare GTA 6 to Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey, rave about Julianne Moore’s performance in Jesse Eisenberg’s new comedy and make some early Oscar predictions.
Plus, their verdicts on Carrie and Time, another development in the cartoon sofa saga and the unfortunate discovery that Benedict’s “refreshing treat” for the plants wasn’t water.

If you walk around a castle late at night demanding to be recruited as a traitor, it may just come back to haunt you. It’s the episode that kick starts the whole series to the next level and Hannah & Benedict unpack the tensest round table to date, which sees not only a new traitor deceiving their former faithful friends, but also the beginnings of a murder in plain sight.
King Kenny is bringing the tactful masterclass Maya has been hoping for since the start, Ross is continuing to be intense (with gentleness) and Joanne McNally may be the worst faithful of all time.
It’s all going on and we’re not yawning, you’re yawning!

The big brain theory finally pays off, and King Kenny brings an evil laugh to the turret. Hannah and Benedict unpack episode five, from Rob Beckett’s murder to Hannah Fry’s banishment.
They discuss Maya Jama staying four steps ahead, Joanne McNally’s round-table slip-up and whether recruiting Kenny could leave James Acaster dangerously outnumbered.
Plus, Ross Kemp remains suspicious for the crime of being picked for things, and Joe Lycett would really like someone to recruit him.

Derren Brown joins Hannah and Benedict to talk The Heist, Only Human and what happens when a trick goes wrong three nights in a row.
They discuss turning ordinary people into the stars of his shows, why failure can make a performance better and how Hannibal Lecter, Sherlock Holmes and Willy Wonka helped shape his onstage persona.
Plus, his love of About Time, an unexpected trip to Springfield and the childhood meeting Benedict has never forgotten. Derren, unfortunately, has.

Hannah and Benedict have seen Primetime, and they have a lot to say about Robert Pattinson. They give their spoiler-free verdict on the film and explain why sitting next to the director made eating popcorn surprisingly stressful.
They also defend The Social Reckoning, question some baffling Letterboxd reviews and compare Shane Gillis’s SNL appearance with Danny Dyer’s rather different approach on SNL UK.
Plus, Benedict has a problem with movie magicians, Hannah defends their supposedly cartoon sofa and the baby’s size is being measured using an increasingly questionable selection of fruit.
