Aaron Belansky is taking on an ambitious classic rock experiment called The Review Board, listening to 329 albums across 987 total listens to determine his personal Top 10 classic rock artists. And he’s doing it all while walking—roughly 740 hours of music and an estimated 2,000 miles.

In this episode, Aaron joins Booked On Rock to reveal some of the biggest surprises so far. He explains why Led Zeppelin has climbed to No. 2 in his rankings, why Eric Clapton doesn’t hit him the way he once did, how The Rolling Stones won him over after years of resistance, and why Pink Floyd’s early catalog is hurting their standing. Lynyrd Skynyrd became one of the most influential and enduring bands in Southern rock, powered by the songwriting, vision, and uncompromising leadership of Ronnie Van Zant. In this episode of Booked On Rock, author Chris Salisbury joins me to explore the story behind Lynyrd Skynyrd’s classic albums and songs, from their difficult early years in Jacksonville to the creation of “Free Bird,” “Sweet Home Alabama,” “Simple Man,” “Saturday Night Special,” and more.
