We thought we were going to sit down for a nice simple episode of the podcast, and then the EBU announced everything. Burgas! New age limit! No more pre-recorded backing tracks! Less well-defined rules about "conflicts"! But our fantastic guest, Irene White (Superstore, St. Denis Medical), was game to talk about it all, along with a bunch of songs released by artists from this year's Eurovision class. Jeremy's glad to see Sam up to his old tricks again, Dimitry wants you to check out the Jiva back catalog, Irene explains the 90s appeal of Satoshi, and Oscar sees the other side of a melancholy Dane.

The votes are in, the jury's got its favorite and the same for the public: it's time to see who reigns supreme as we sort through the winners of the Eurovision Song Contest through the eighties and nineties. Some surprises on both sides, but there's also a shocking amount of consensus at the top of the standings and the bottom. In the middle, however? Outliers abound. Jeremy will make believe this moment's here to stay, Dimitry lets the feeling take control, and Oscar sees forever in your smile.

We're back with our second episode of taking a look back at the winners of the 80s & 90s, and we hope you like Ireland because they're out in force in the 90s. Three back to back wins, another Johnny Logan appearance, Moods both Pure & Celtics - it's Ireland's decade for sure. We'll be covering the famously terrible 2008 Eurovision Song Contest in a livestream later this year, but we thought we ought to cover the second place winner (and Oscar's favorite!), 1991's ESC at Cinecittà in Rome. And since we couldn't keep this many mediocre ballads to ourselves, joining us for this highly dysfunctional edition of Eurovision is the hilarious writer & comedian Corin Wells. (Dropout, The Amber Ruffin Show). Jeremy can't believe they let this sax solo slide, Dimitry needs more people to cover Amina, Corin's playing her first Eurovision on Expert difficulty, and Oscar traces the origins of all of 91's choreo to an unlikely source.
