  For people of a certain age, the Essential Selection on BBC Radio 1 was the start to their weekend. Headed up by Pete Tong, it showcased the best tunes around at the time, had a show from Cafe Mambo and had various djs on every week. I remember older people telling us it wasnt as good as it used to be, but we loved it. Simon has trawled through the tracklistings of all of them (ChatGPT wouldnt do it) and this is part 1 of his efforts. ESSENTIAL is the new concept from Ravers In Dubai. "Last Saturday was pure magic. A room full of real ravers, no phones, just vibes — deep in the groove all night long. You lot brought the energy, and we’re still buzzing. So… let’s do it again."
