Embedded Executive: The Engineer’s Interview Process | Webster

    2026-09-09 | 16 min.
Many engineers have been in their current positions for a long time. In many instances, that’s a great thing. But it could mean that you’re missing out on a great opportunity. That said, where do you turn if you’re “job shopping,” and if you get an interview, what do you do?
To answer these questions, and many more, I spoke to Marcus Webster, the Founder and president of Webster and Webster Associates, on this week’s Embedded Executives podcast.

Embedded Executive: Conversation Started With Memory, Led to Making Better Communities | Micron

    2026-09-02 | 16 min.
Jeremy Werner, the Senior VP and GM for the Core Data Center Business Unit of Micron, gave the Keynote Address at the recent Future of Memory and Storage conference. I was not able to attend, so I asked Jeremy to join me on this week’s Embedded Executives podcast and walk me through some of the points that he made. We discussed the “memory wall” we're about to hit, and the solutions to avoid hitting the wall. He said, “memory is the new architecture,” which needed an explanation.
Jeremy had much to say about the power and other resources that are needed to drive data centers and fabs, which can be quite controversial. Interestingly, Micron is investing in many of the communities that it builds in. It was very encouraging to hear some of these facts. When you’re done with the podcast, check out the video and press release for more info.

Embedded Executive: Embedded Application Development Needn’t Be Complicated | SEGGER

    2026-08-26 | 16 min.
One vendor, SEGGER Microcontroller Systems, can come up with a way to simplify the design of embedded applications, a term they’ve coined as EmApps. You can have Segger write the apps for you, or you can get an SDK from them and do it yourself.
I dove way deeper into this issue with Rolf Segger, the Founder of SEGGER, on this week’s Embedded Executives podcast. We get into where TinyML should be deployed and why, and where it shouldn’t.

Embedded Executive: No More Space To Update Your Device? Uh-Oh | Infineon

    2026-08-19 | 13 min.
Embedded devices get updates and patches on a regular basis. Those updates consist of bug fixes, security vulnerability updates, and lots of other stuff. But at some point, you’re going to run out of memory space for these patches, especially if your system has been in the field for years or even decades.
    So what do you do?
That's not an easy question to answer, but there is an answer, and that’s what I got from Steve Hanna, a Distinguished Engineer from Infineon, on this week’s Embedded Executives podcast.

Embedded Executive: Another Long-Range Networking Standard | Last Mile Semiconductor

    2026-08-12 | 17 min.
NR+, aka DECT-2020 NR, is a non-cellular 5G wireless technology standard that operates without cell towers or operator subscriptions. It offers private, highly scalable mesh connectivity in the license-exempt 1.9-GHz frequency band for such applications as industrial IoT and industrial automation.
That said, other long-range standards offer similar connectivity. So the obvious question for me is, “Why do we need NR+?”
To answer that question, I spoke to Nick Dutton, a Strategic Advisor to Last Mile Semiconductor. Nick answered my question, and lots more along the way, in this week’s Embedded Executives podcast.
