Privacy Statement Pursuant to Section 13 of the German Telemedia Act (TMG)

By means of this privacy statement we will inform you of the nature, scope and purpose of the collection and use of personal data pursuant to section 13 of the German Telemedia Act when using the website www.radio.net and the services provided on the website.

Data Controller

The Data Controller, as defined by German data protection law, is radio.de GmbH, Mühlenkamp 59, 22303 Hamburg, Germany.

Personal Data

Personal data are any information concerning the personal or material circumstances of an identified or identifiable individual (the data subject) such as name, address, postal address, e-mail address, phone number and IP-address.

Audio Service

While you are using our audio service we will automatically save information to our server log files, which is transmitted to us by your browser. This information includes the type of browser, the IP-address, your current radio station request, as well as the date and time of each action. These data are saved exclusively for statistical purposes in order to implement analyses regarding user behaviour for the purposes of improving and developing new services. We do not use this information to create a personal profile.

Login/Register

Some of our services (e.g. saving of preferred radio stations as favorites) require prior registration and login.  In the course of registration we collect and store the following personal data: a user name selected by you, your e-mail address and a password selected by you.

Alternatively, we offer you the possibility to register by using the data saved in your Facebook or Google account via the functions “LOGIN WITH FACEBOOK” or “LOGIN WITH GOOGLE+”. By using the aforementioned functions you agree to let us access the basic user data saved in your user account, i.e. the data which is publically visible on the social network, as well as to collect, process and use the e-mail address and further data which is necessary for the registration outlined in this privacy statement.

My Profile

As a registered user you have the possibility of adding further personal information to your profile. Furthermore, we offer you the possibility to create your favorite list of radio stations and songs, which can be retrieved via your profile to quickly access your favorite radio stations. Additionally, we will be able to recommend to you further radio stations related to your list of favorites. You may change or delete this information as well as the list of favorites in your profile at any time. Furthermore, you have the possibility to delete your account completely. Your personal data will then be automatically deleted.

Newsletter

Subject to the following consent, which must be expressly granted by you, we will use your e-mail address to send you our newsletter: “I wish to receive the radio.net newsletter”. You may unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time by clicking on the respective link in the newsletter. With our newsletter you will regularly receive current and interesting information around the topic of radio.

Support Function

If you require support when using our services, you may directly request it by clicking on the button “Support”. To answer your question we require your e-mail address. We will use the e-mail address given to us within the framework of this function exclusively for the purpose of answering your questions.

Linking Agreement

The personal data entered via the Linking Agreement will only be used by us for the implementation of the contractual relationship.

radio.net App Download

To receive direct links to our app offers in the app store we offer you the opportunity to actively submit your e-mail address on various subpages of radio.net. This exclusively serves the purpose of making access to our apps easier for you. You will only receive this e-mail if you have given us the following consent: “I wish to receive download links via e-mail for the radio.net apps”.

Google Adsense

If Google Adsense, a web advertisement service of Google Inc., USA (“Google”), places advertisements (text ads, banners etc.) on this website, your browser may store a cookie sent by Google Inc. or by a third party. The information stored in the cookie can be recorded, collected and analyzed by Google Inc. or by third parties. Additionally, Google Adsense also uses so-called “web beacons” (small invisible images) for the collection of information. Transfer to Third Parties

A transfer of personal data to third parties will only take place as far as we are obliged to transfer the collected data due to an official or court order or if the transfer has been legitimized by applicable legal provisions.

Data Security

n order to prevent unauthorized access or unauthorized disclosure, to warrant the correctness of data and to ensure the authorized use of data, we have taken appropriate technical and organizational measures in order to secure and protect the data which we collect online. The transmission of data and information on our server is encrypted by means of TLS 1.2. Despite these measures and efforts, electronic communication itself cannot be completely secure. We cannot take responsibility or be held liable for the disclosure of information due to errors and/or unauthorized access during the data transmission of third parties.

Your Rights

With regard to personal data you have the rights of information, correction and deletion granted by the German Federal Data Protection Act. These rights are to be asserted by sending a letter by mail to the address of radio.net mentioned above or via e-mail to privacy@radio.net.
